A few facts about the Niagara Triathlon

  • Grimsby is 1 hr from Toronto, 1 hr from Guelph and less than an hour from Buffalo.

  • The Try-a-Tri is a great event for first timers. The swim runs parallel to the shore, with plenty of lifeguards and boaters for support. Try-A-Tri'ers can touch bottom at all times.  The bike is flat as a pancake and the run is slightly hilly, using both pavement and trail.

  • The Sprint distance has a flat bike (except for the renowned Beast of the East hill on Park Rd.!) The run is mostly flat and fast, taking athletes past residential lake front homes along historic Grimsby Beach.

  • Check out www.town.grimsby.on.ca for local B&B’s, Grimsby area wineries and links to Niagara region wineries.  Stop by the Wild Water Works park (1-800-555-8755) just off the QEW on the way back to Guelph/Toronto.  Or take a scenic drive to Puddicombe Farms to ride the train, pick your own fruit or buy some fresh produce  www.puddicombefarms.com
