COURSE MAPS

Try-A-Tri ~ 375m - 10K- 2.5K

This is proving to be a very popular event for Try a Tri athletes. You will begin your race with a 375 m swim in beautiful Lake Couchiching. It is a beach and wave start. You will swim in a clock-wise direction following a rectangular pattern before returning to the transition. All turns will be marked with large orange buoys. The Bike Course would be noted as a little more "technical" and begins with some short hills and turns but once out of town there are some long flat sections where you can build some speed. There are some rollers on the course but nothing terribly difficult. The return on the bike tends to be mostly down-hill so be sure to check your speeds on your approach back to transition. The Run Course is mostly flat and winds through residential neighbourhoods. Some good shade in sections and generally a fast course which finishes through beautiful tree lined Terry Fox Circle in Couchiching Park. NOTE: The transition area is very large at this event and is built to accommodate all the athletes of the day. Try a Tri athletes will have their own area that will be sectioned off specifically for you. This area will be marked and is the section that is closest to the registration area.

Sprint Triathlon ~750m- 33K-7K

You will begin your race with a 750 m swim in beautiful Lake Couchiching. It is a beach and wave start. You will swim in a clock-wise direction following a rectangular pattern before returning to the transition. All turns will be marked with large orange buoys. Sprint Duathlon~2K- 33K-7K

You will begin your race on the street just outside of the Transition Area. The first 2 K run is fast and mostly shaded on an out and back course. Remember that Duathletes always have their own section ion the transition area. That way you can always keep an eye on your competition! Each bike rack has a RED sign on the end of it signifying the "duathlete racks". Sprint Swim/Bike~750m- 33K

You will begin your race with a 750 m swim in beautiful Lake Couchiching along with all the other triathletes. The difference for Swim/Bike athletes is that they all start together in one wave, not sorted by age group. Once back in transition your race is considered over. Catch your breath and when you are ready you can return your timing chip to the ladies at the finish line.

Sprint Triathlon Relay ~750m- 33K-7K

The RELAY option is an excellent way to get involved in the sport without having to do it all! Gather one or two friends or family members and create a team! Each athlete takes one or two of the disciplines and it is a whole lot of FUN! (see course description for triathlon). Each athlete is entitled to all the perks of the individual triathlete (race kit, food, water, Technical Tee etc.) Relay teams have their own area in transition and each bike rack is labeled specifically for that. It also should be noted that the TEAM shares ONE timing chip. The timing chip acts as the exchange baton like you would see at a relay running race. The swimmer begins the race with the chip on their ankle. The biker waits in Transition and once the swimmer returns from the swim, the chip will be exchanged. In order to help the Team keep organized and out of the path of all the other athletes in transition, we also have a relay penn area where the chip exchange will happen. The same will happen for the run portion and once the runner crosses the finish line you can all meet there to celebrate your victory! NOTE: Please have the whole team available at the same time for race kit pick up. All athletes must pick up their kits together and be present to sign their waivers.

World Endurance Canada has been producing triathlons and duathlons for over 25 years. We have had many terrific events over the years. We do our best to spread our events throughout Ontario in order to reach as much of the athletic population as we can. While many people think the big cities are the place to race we do our best to avoid them. We much prefer the rural setting where the roads are quieter and the air and water is cleaner.
