COURSE MAPS

Try-A-Tri ~ 375m - 10K- 2.5K

This is a VERY popular event and typically sells out every season! You will see all types of athletes at this event. Many of them will be trying a triathlon for their very first time. You will also see athletes that are very young and very fast or on the other end of the spectrum you will also see those that have a very relaxed approach to the sport and their only objective is to have FUN! No worries, we have something for everyone! The swim begins by swimming in a clockwise "rectangular pattern". The swim path is clearly marked with large, orange buoys. The water tends to be quite nice at this event so if you have a wetsuit you can wear it. If you don't, but would like one, you can always look into renting one. Many go without. Mountain bikes are perfectly acceptable to ride in this race. It has some rollers but nothing too daunting. It is an out and back course that can generate some great speed if you like. The run will leave transition through the Merrell Run Tower and continue along the roads within the confines of the park on 2.5 km. of paved roads before heading downhill to the Finish Line!

Sprint Triathlon ~750m - 19K- 5K

this is a great venue for a race which is why we come here twice a year. Water temperatures are usually very comfortable and the swim finishes with a relatively long run over grass to transition. The bike course is fast with rolling hills but nothing too difficult. If it is windy you’ll feel it because the roads are open and exposed, but it’s out and back so you won’t see a headwind the entire time. Be aware of the speed bumps on the road that leads in and out of the conservation area. It’s easy to lose a water bottle if you’re not careful. The run is completely contained within the park and composed of flat paved roads with short rolling hills. Nothing too difficult. Descriptions apply to all distances as the courses are very similar. Please note: when arriving at the park to race that day you must be mindful that the Try a Tri athletes will be using the same roads to bike on when you will likely be coming to the park. If you aome early to watch the try a tri that is great! They would love your support. If not please plan your arrival AFTER 11:30 a.m. Otherwise you will get held up at the gate and have to wait. No one likes to wait :-) . We also respectfully request that you do not rack your bike in the transition area until the Try a Tri athletes are on their way back home.

Sprint Duathlon ~2K -19K-5K

Your race starts with a 2km. run which will begin just after the triathletes start swimming. From the transition area, walk out towards the road that leads into transition. Walk towards your right and look for the large barricade with the DUATHLON START sign on it. The announcer will meet you here and give last minute instructions or notices. Your first 2 km run stays all inside the park on paved roads. Nothing too difficult it will act as a great “warm up” for your bike! The run is short, rolling hills on an out and back course which will lead you back into the Transition Area to get you ready for your bike. The bike course is fast with rolling hills but nothing too difficult. If it is windy you’ll feel it because the roads are open and exposed, but it’s out and back so you won’t see a headwind the entire time. Be aware of the speed bumps on the road that leads in and out of the conservation area. It’s easy to lose a water bottle if you’re not careful. The run is completely contained within the park and composed of flat paved roads with short rolling hills. Nothing too difficult.

Sprint Tri Relay ~750m - 19K- 5K

The RELAY option is an excellent way to get involved in the sport without having to do it all! The course you compete on will be the very same as the Sprint Triathlon you just get to split up the work between you and a friend or family member! Each athlete takes either one or two of the disciplines and it is a whole lot of FUN! Each athlete is entitled to all the perks (race kit, food, water, cool technical tee etc). Every athlete on your team should be present to sign their waivers and pick up the race kit on race weekend. It should be noted that the TEAM shares ONE timing chip. The timing chip acts as the exchange baton like you would see at a relay running race. The swimmer begins the race with the chip on their ankle. The biker wait at the RELAY bike rack and once the swimmer returns the chip can then be exchanged. The same will happen to begin the run portion.

This is a great option if you are injured and just don't want to run but still want to race! The course will be the same as the Sprint Triathlon just eliminating the Run! You start the race with the rest of the triathletes however all the Swim/Bike Athletes will all begin in the same wave ; not within their age group. Water temperatures are usually very comfortable and we will have you well spaced out with a one loop and interval wave start. You begin on the beach swimming in a rectangle clockwise direction. The swim finishes with a relatively long run over grass and gradual uphill to transition. The bike course is fast with rolling hills but nothing too difficult. If it is windy you’ll feel it because the roads are open and exposed, but it’s out and back so you won’t see a headwind the entire time. Be aware of the speed bumps on the road that leads in and out of the conservation area. It’s easy to lose a water bottle if you’re not careful. Once you have racked your bike in the transition area, your race is over. Take your time and cool down then you can drop off your timing chip to us at the finish line and get a cold bottle of water to rehydrate and celebrate!

  • Race Kit Pick-Up (all races): 6:30 am – 7:45 am - located behind snack bar, down the hill from transition.
  • Olympic Triathlon Start: 8:00am 
  • Olympic Duathlon Start: 8:20am
NOTE: Try-A-Tri Athletes - please do not arrive at the park between 8:30am and 11:30 am as you will be stopped at the gate until the Olympic finishes. You are welcome to come early and cheer on the Olympic athletes or simply just time your arrival for 11:30am or later. PLEASE don't rack your bikes in the transition area until after the Olympic race is over.  There will be a temporary rack by the Kinetico water trailer.

Please NOTE: For Those Athletes Who Have Not Yet Registered But Still Want To Race; We Will Be Offering Race Day Sign Ups On Site During The Above Registration Times. A $5 Late Registration Fee Will Be Applied. We Accept Visa, Mastercard And Cash.
  • Registration (Try-A-Tri): 11:30 am - 2:00 pm
  • Try-A-Tri Start: 2:00 pm
  • Awards: scheduled after each event (when last finisher crosses the line)
  • Post-Race Party: after each event.
There is a fee for family and friends to enter the park and use the facilities. Participating athletes are FREE. In order to help speed up the entrance to the park please have any spectator fees ready at the gate. $5 per adult and $2 per child.

HOW TO GET THERE

Highway 401 to Highway #6 North, through Guelph. East on Township Rd. #6 to Conservation area. Guests will have a $5.00 per adult and $2 per child park entrance fee. Athlete fee is included in entry fee.

    World Endurance Canada has been producing triathlons and duathlons for over 25 years. We have had many terrific events over the years. We do our best to spread our events throughout Ontario in order to reach as much of the athletic population as we can. While many people think the big cities are the place to race we do our best to avoid them. We much prefer the rural setting where the roads are quieter and the air and water is cleaner.
