ChampionChip Results
Trisport , together with Sportstats is able to provide all athletes (except try a tri athletes) the luxury of complete timing splits at all of our events. That means NO trying to figure out how long you spent in transition!

Professional results are provided by Sportstats and paid for by Trisport. Results posted throughout the race. This year we will again be using the ChampionChip timing system. Athletes will wear a computer chip around their ankle which will enable us to do transition splits at certain races. For more info, follow this link. NOTE: Athletes will be responsible for the cost of replacing lost computer chips. Please return at finish line.

Prizes and Awards
Category winners will receive a plaque for their accomplishments. A variety of draw prizes will be available to all participants from our Series Sponsors. Click here for full details. Plaques not picked up at events will be mailed to recipient at a cost of $6.00 for postage and handling.

St. John's Ambulance
Will provide first aid throughout the year.

Information Sources
For all race information and registration, please phone Trisport Promotions, Inc. at (905) 562-6670 or fax entries to (905) 562-6611. Please include your Visa or Master Card Number and Expiry Date when faxing applications.  Or use our on-line entry form. If you are entering by mail, please make cheques payable to Trisport Promotions Canada, Inc.

Please Note
Anyone entering a race on Race Weekend will be charged a late fee. This is not viewed as a penalty to the athlete but as an incentive to try and enter early. If there was not a late fee then everyone would wait until the last minute to enter making it impossible for Trisport to plan and provide for that event. Most ordering for race supplies is done 2 weeks before the event so if you register within the last 2 weeks prior to a race, you will be subject to a late fee.We try and cater to those athletes who enter early.  Thank-you for your understanding! We certainly can appreciate that not everyone has the ability to sign up early and we will do our best to accomodate those in that situation.

Limited Race Registration
Muskoka Long Course Triathlon/Duathlon and Guelph Lake II Triathlon/Duathlon will have limited registration numbers this year so enter early if you plan on competing in these events.

Entry Fees

People often wonder (and ask!) exactly where their entry fees go.  While it is true that Trisport is a business, and running races is how they earn an income, putting on a race costs money and putting on 10 of them costs a lot of money!  Here is a short list of some of the expenses incurred at each race:

TAX - GST, federal, provincial taxes all included in your fee as well as tax on everything purchased.
Race Day Insurance - $6 automatically goes to OAT
Trisport staff - 12 paid crew members responsible for race implementation and set up/tear down.
Volunteers - we do have the occasional “true volunteer” however most volunteer race crew is now paid by Trisport. We do this to ensure that all stations are properly staffed to make your race experience the best possible.

Police to control roads and traffic flow. Many are under the assumption they do this for free. Not true! On averagejust 1 officer is $50/hr at a minimum of 4 hrs! Some races have an average of 6 paid officers per event. ($200 (min) X 6 = $1200). Again that is just an estimate. Some races require many more officers and many more hours.
Police Cars - For every police car on the course they charge an extra $150 (average) for that car.
Race Venue - (some sites cost more than others) Big dollars!
Parking at race venues is paid by Trisport
T-Shirts and screening
Prizes and Plaques- on average each race has 150 plaques per event.
Porto-Potties
Lifeguards

Physician on staff and at the event
Ambulance
Ryder Truck Rentals plus fuel ($$$). Fuel for 6 other event vehicles.
Food
Safety Pins (believe it or not, Trisport will fork out over $1000 through the course of the year to supply safety pins for race numbers)
Race Numbers
Swim Caps
Barricade Rentals
Timing Officials, Trisport pays extra to have timing splits at each event. $40,000 / yr goes directly to timing costs.
Accommodations for officials, race crew and timers at each event. (at least 15 people).

Trisport produces some of the best races in the world, and you can be guaranteed that each race will be professionally run.  I hope this gives you some idea where your race fees go.
